Warm Up Routine Before Working Out
We do not include a warm up with every fitness video because some people like to do the workouts back to back. So if you are looking for a dynamic warm up then please choose one of the workouts to the left. All of the warm up stretches featured in these videos can be used as cool down stretches, just hold them for longer ie roughly 12 to 15 seconds each.
It is very important to warm up before going into a workout, as this will help to prevent injury. A warm up should gradually raise the heart rate and increase circulation. This will increase blood flow to the muscles and loosen up the joints.
There is sometime confusion between stretching and warming and some people will go straight into a stretch. You must do a warm up prior to stretching to get optimal results in the stretch. It is never a good idea to perform a stretch routine when the body is cold. The warm up will feed your muscles with blood and warm them up, and when a muscle is warmed up it can be happily stretched. If you try and go for a deep stretch when the muscle is cold you could injure yourself.
A warm up will also allow the joints to secrete a fluid call 'Synovial Fluid', and this acts as a lubricant for the joints. Not warming up is like trying to run a car without oil. Something which most people would not do. However due to a lack of understanding a lot of fitness enthusiasts workout without warming up first.
So choose one of the warm up routines we have provided for you and give them a go. Take them nice and easy.
And we hope you have a great day
