In 2008 a study in America claimed that drinking coffee may increase the risk of heart failure. Now the heart training journal has turned this idea on its head. It claims drinking one to two cups of coffee per day may in fact lower the risk of heart failure.
After a few years of studies it seems the recent report shows that drinking coffee is surprisingly good for you. However moderation is the key. Heavy coffee consumption can pose health risks.
It is still not exactly known why drinking coffee every day can be good for you, though generally it is thought it has something to do with the anti oxidant benefits. The sudy did not show or distinguish any differences between decaffeinated and caffeinated coffee.
The study went on to say that people should not have coffee as a health drink in order to achieve the health benefits
