Fitness Circuit Training
Circuit Training is one of the best ways toimprove fitness levels quickly. Not only will they drastically improve your cardio-vascular fitness, but they will also improve your muscular endurance strength. Circuit training is the bread and butter of the Royal Marines (as well as yomping but this will be discussed later) as it is for many other military forces. The idea of circuit training is to keep your heart rate up for a prolonged period of time where the participant only stops for the occaisonal water break. This break may only last for a couple of minutes. Typically in the civilian world circuits are run for 45 mins to an hour. In the Marines you could find yourself doinga triple 45 mins session where you will be pushed to your limits throughout.
See below for some circuit training session plans. You can make these as hard or as easy as you like by changing tempo, rest periods, time of the circuit and how many exercises you complete.
