Today we are looking at how to do a full press up so that you can join in with our workouts and be able to do all of the exercises.
A Press Up is a big compound exercise which means it takes multiple muscle groups to work in order for a person to be able to complete a full press up. This means that when you are able to achieve a full range press up with knees off the ground, that you have multiple muscles that are strong which is a great indication of strength especially in women.
Nick has trained many clients over the years on how to do a full Press Up and very often women feel that it is more of an exercise for men. This is simply not true and there are plenty of women who are able to do lots of press ups with great technique.
And if we are able to teach you how to do a full press up, and it is something you can not do at the moment, then it will really help to take your training to the next level. As a woman press up training will not give you big muscular arms, instead it will give you nice toned arms. It is very hard for a woman to get big muscles simply because women have approximately 40 times less testerone in them than men. This is one of the great myths of strength training in women. Most women i have taught to do a full press up are very lean but have taught their muscles to be strong. Helen is a perfect example of someone who is petite and great at press ups.
